Don't be afraid of your own potential!

DO NOT BE AFRAID OF YOUR OWN POTENTIAL. Potential is discussed often, and a lot of times that is where we stay. We think about what could have been, what should have been, and what life may have been if we made a particular decision. The crazy part is that we are staying at the point of only a thought and a possibility. We are afraid of the possibility because we do not know the outcome. This is why many people push and encourage others to just start somewhere, and this is petitioned all over the “encouragement scene”. It is not only about starting; you have to get rid of the fear that existed in the first place. As addressed in the previous post, it is important to get rid of fear. God didn’t give it to you! You don’t keep fear or coddle fear. Any potential that God has given can and will come into reality. What we have to face is that we muffle that potential because we want to accomplish it in our own might.

For with God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment. Luke 1:37 AMP

However, I want to encourage you to think of your contingency plan now, when you are not emotionally invested and you don't feel trapped. What do I mean by this? What actions will you take when the outcome does not go in your favor? For example, you have the potential to buy a house and YOU REALLY WANT THIS HOUSE. You know that you are border line for qualifying for this home. What is a contingency plan for how to feel if the purchase doesn’t go through. My stance is this, and I encourage you to do the same: God, whatever you decide to allow, I am glad to be in your will. I have the potential, and ability to accomplish this, but whatever you decide, I am okay with it. This may not seem favorable and its definitely not a gimmicky solution; however, this takes maturity and sacrifice. Understand that God has your best interest at heart and He has designed you for an intended purpose. Move forward and don’t be afraid of the result.
